Kea & John's Joyful June Wedding at Hayloft on the Arch

Kea and John’s wedding day was one of those unforgettable celebrations filled with beauty, resilience, and pure joy. Held on a hot and humid June day at the always-gorgeous Hayloft on the Arch in Vernon Center, NY, their wedding was equal parts heartfelt and high-energy—made even more memorable by a few unexpected twists.

The morning started with a severe storm that swept through the Oneida area, leading to flooding in many nearby neighborhoods. Thankfully, the venue was spared from flood damage, but it wasn’t untouched—Hayloft on the Arch lost power just as the wedding day was beginning. Despite this curveball, the atmosphere stayed calm and positive thanks to Alicia, the venue manager, who handled everything with total professionalism and grace. She was the calm in the storm (literally). Her steady presence behind the scenes ensured the day kept moving forward without unnecessary stress—especially for Kea, who remained beautifully relaxed and joyful throughout the morning.

By the time the outdoor ceremony began, the heat and humidity were in full force, and guests were fanning themselves under the summer sun. Then, halfway through the ceremony, almost as if on cue, the power kicked back on. It was a small miracle that came at just the right time. The barn fans roared to life, helping cool things down before guests moved inside for the reception.

Kea and John are not only an incredible couple—they’re also phenomenal singers. During the reception, they performed a song together for their guests, and it was so good I couldn’t bring myself to cut it short in the final film. I included the full performance as a sort of musical interlude, because it truly captured their spirit and connection.

Friends and family were present from near and far, but no matter where guests were from, one thing was clear: this was a family-centered celebration overflowing with love and fun. Both families showed up with full hearts—and full energy for the dance floor. The barn was packed all night long, with celebration and laughter echoing from wall to wall.

I also want to recognize the amazing team that helped make this day so special. Nicole, the photographer, was an absolute pleasure to work with—easygoing, creative, and collaborative. And once again, Alicia at Hayloft on the Arch, and Kea's talented family; Ronson, Kea's brother who provided music for both the ceremony, dinner and more, and Rachel and her husband Justin Caramillo, who coordinated the day to perfection (The straw that stirs the drink!), and was a total pro Master of Ceremonies, respectively.

I feel truly blessed to have played a role in capturing Kea and John’s big day. It was an honor to witness a love like theirs, and to preserve the memories of such a powerful, joyful, and love-filled celebration.
