Emilie and Jake celebrated their wedding in the heart of Syracuse — and it was one of the most meaningful and beautifully layered wedding days we have ever had the privilege of capturing as Syracuse wedding photographers and videographers.

Their ceremony took place at the historic Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University — a venue that held extraordinarily deep personal meaning for this couple. Emilie and Jake first met while attending Syracuse University, so exchanging vows on campus was already profoundly sentimental. But the connection ran even deeper: Jake's grandmother had graduated from Syracuse University and walked across the very same stage at Hendricks Chapel to receive her diploma — the same space where her grandson and Emilie now stood to be married. That kind of generational connection is something that brings tears to your eyes in the editing room, and this day was no exception.

Surrounded by their loved ones, with Syracuse University's most iconic building as their backdrop, the ceremony was heartfelt, moving, and absolutely unforgettable. The weather was picture-perfect, with the occasional sun shower that kept things fresh and beautiful without dampening the joy for a single moment.

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the Marriott Syracuse Downtown — known to many locals as the Hotel Syracuse — for an epic celebration in the stunning Grand Ballroom. With sweeping views of downtown Syracuse from the 10th floor, the setting for their reception was nothing short of spectacular. One of the most memorable moments of the evening came when Emilie's father delivered a deeply touching toast — including a poem he had written himself. His words were so meaningful and beautifully crafted that we knew they deserved to be preserved in full within the wedding film. From there, the celebration only grew. Emilie and Jake had curated the perfect playlist and DJ Jeff V of Select Receptions kept the dance floor packed from the first song to the very last.

Their final wedding highlight film ran a little longer than most — but only because there were simply too many meaningful moments that deserved to be included. Emilie and Jake's story is one worth telling in full, and we are so grateful to have been trusted with preserving it for them to relive for the rest of their lives.
