A day of unmistakable connection at Sky Armory

When Anna first reached out more than a year before her wedding day, she shared the story of her and Evan — how they met, how their relationship grew, and what brought them to this moment. From that very first message it was clear their connection ran extraordinarily deep, and I knew immediately this was a wedding I needed to be part of. As Sky Armory wedding photographers and videographers, we have captured many beautiful days at this venue — but Anna and Evan's was something truly special.

Anna began her morning at her family home in Camillus, New York — a home unlike any other. Gold records line the walls and Grammy Awards rest on the piano, honoring the incredible musical legacy of her late father. It was an emotional, beautiful, and deeply meaningful place to begin the day, and every frame we captured there told a story. After getting ready surrounded by the people she loves most, Anna shared a heartfelt first look filled with love and anticipation.

From Camillus, everyone made their way to Sky Armory in downtown Syracuse — one of the most dramatic and beloved wedding venues in all of Central New York. Upon arrival, Anna and Evan shared their first look on the rooftop parking deck adjacent to Sky Armory, the city of Syracuse spread out behind them as the weight of the day settled in. Evan seeing Anna in her dress for the first time was a quiet, deeply touching moment that we will never forget. Immediately following, they exchanged private personal vows — sincere, emotional, and unforgettable words that were an honest reflection of how deeply these two people love one another.

The ceremony took place in Sky Armory's intimate Betts Room on the first floor — a setting that felt perfectly suited for the moment. Anna's Uncle Steve officiated as they officially became husband and wife, surrounded by every person who matters most to them.

The celebration then moved upstairs to Sky Armory's stunning second-floor ballroom — and what followed was one of the most powerful moments we have ever captured as downtown Syracuse wedding photographers and videographers. The first song to kick off the dancing was "Nothing But a Woman" by The Robert Cray Band — a song Anna's late father had played drums on. When he recorded it, he could never have imagined that one day his daughter's wedding dance floor would erupt to that very beat. But it did. The floor was absolutely packed, and his presence was felt in every single moment. Including that song in the wedding film was not a choice — it was a necessity. It is one of the most moving things we have ever been privileged to include in a film.
