Emilie & Jake’s Epic Syracuse Wedding
On Friday, June 27th, Emilie and Jake celebrated their wedding in the heart of Syracuse with a day full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The weather was picture-perfect, with the occasional sun shower that kept things fresh without dampening the joy.
Their ceremony took place at the historic Hendricks Chapel, a venue that holds deep meaning for the couple. Emilie and Jake first met while attending Syracuse University, so saying “I do” on campus was already sentimental. But it was made even more special by a family connection: Jake’s grandmother had graduated from Syracuse University and walked across the stage at Hendricks Chapel to accept her diploma in the very same space where her grandson and Emilie exchanged vows. Surrounded by their loved ones, the ceremony was heartfelt and deeply moving.
Following the ceremony, guests made their way downtown to the Marriott Syracuse Downtown (aka the Hotel Syracuse) for an epic celebration in the Grand Ballroom. The 10th floor offered sweeping views of the city, setting the stage for an evening of heartfelt toasts and non-stop dancing.
One of the highlights of the night came when Emilie’s father delivered a touching toast, including an poem he had written. His words were so meaningful that we knew they deserved to be preserved in full within their wedding film. From there, the celebration continued with incredible energy. Emilie and Jake had curated the perfect playlist to keep their guests celebrating late into the night, and DJ Jeff V of Select Receptions kept the dance floor packed all evening.
Their final wedding highlight film ended up running a little longer than most, but only because there were so many meaningful moments that deserved to be included. Emilie and Jake’s story is one worth telling in full, and I’m grateful to have been a part of preserving it for them to relive for years to come.
It truly was an epic wedding day—one filled with history, love, and joy—and I feel blessed to have played a role in documenting such a beautiful celebration.
