Some wedding days just seem to come together perfectly. Meghan and Robert’s wedding at Skyline Lodge in Fabius, NY, was one of those days.
From the beautiful weather to the incredible views and the energy of their family and friends, their wedding was filled with the kind of genuine moments that make photographing weddings so rewarding. It was a beautiful Central New York wedding from beginning to end.
A Beautiful Skyline Lodge Wedding Ceremony
The outdoor ceremony at Skyline Lodge was one of the highlights of the day. With sweeping views of the surrounding countryside behind them, Meghan and Robert exchanged vows in a setting that was every bit as beautiful as the moment itself.
The weather couldn't have been better. Bright sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and the natural beauty surrounding the property created an incredible backdrop for their ceremony and portraits.
As a wedding photographer, I especially enjoy settings like this because they allow the landscape to become part of the story. Rather than simply photographing the couple in front of a pretty background, the goal is to capture what it actually felt like to be there: the view, the light, the people, and most importantly, the emotion of the day.
After the ceremony, Meghan and Robert spent some time together taking portraits around the property. The combination of the scenery, beautiful light, and their genuine happiness made these portraits some of my favorite moments to photograph.
Candid Moments and a Packed Dance Floor
Of course, a wedding isn't just about the ceremony and portraits. Some of the best memories happen once everyone lets loose and the celebration gets underway.
John and Adina from Select Receptions DJs kept the energy high throughout the evening, with a packed dance floor and plenty of fun moments to capture. From Meghan and Robert's first dance to the celebration with their family and friends, the reception was full of laughter, dancing, and genuine emotion.
Those candid moments are an important part of how I approach wedding photography. The posed portraits are important, but so are the photographs that happen in between them: a quick laugh between friends, a parent watching their child on the dance floor, an unexpected hug, or a group of friends completely caught up in the moment.
Those are the photographs that often become some of the most meaningful memories years later.

Skyline Lodge in Fabius is a beautiful setting for couples looking for a wedding venue with a scenic Central New York backdrop. The combination of the outdoor views, open surroundings, and reception setting gives couples plenty of opportunities for both beautiful portraits and candid photographs throughout the day.
For Meghan and Robert, the setting fit their wedding perfectly. Everything came together to create a relaxed, joyful celebration surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
